Brand development
Although originally founded in Colchester and serving the Colchester and Tendring areas, the women’s refuge had begun to support a wider geographical area. It had also started to offer its services to both women and men. Therefore the name ‘Colchester and Tendring’s Women’s Refuge’ no longer described the organisation that the refuge had become.
The Trustees wanted a new name that conveyed ethos of the refuge today and would be memorable, have longevity and engage the target audience groups.
We produced a new name and strapline that conveys the idea of a ‘better future’ along with new brand design and key messages that communicate the benefit and offering of the refuge to key target audience groups.
“Hannah spent much time exploring the culture and values of our organisation, our aspirations and what we felt we stood for and were passionate about. Our staff are delighted with our new name and our branding, they feel confident using it and feel connected to it as it truly represents what we are about. Following on from the name change and initial branding work we then worked together to establish our brand in a range of ways, from ensuring that our new website followed our brand guidelines right the way through our printed material, email footers, leaflets, posters, pens and mugs to name but a few. I would have no hesitation in recommending Handstand Marketing to anyone else.”
